I do use the Kubuntu Team PPAs but I did not download and install
packages manually.
Actually it's weird. Synaptic shows a whole lot of packages that were
installed "manually". I guess I am wrong about what "manually" means? I
thought it would be downloaded *.deb files to be installed by dpkg -i.

I run Kubuntu 10.10 with KDE 4.8 RC2 from the Kubuntu Team PPA.
I have real problems to drag'n'drop things, it often just "clicks" them
(and hence opening) in KDE.

anymore with 3.5 kernel... xserver crash 3.8 no fun with the network

Same here I notice now also that with current kernel on the server
the transfer has become much slower. I still use 3.5 kernel on the
client though.

up. Grepping the syslog only returns this:
