I'd say it's the same reason: some other application is using the sound
card (might even be iconised somewhere). Could you check that?
Furthermore, we have release version 0.4 by now - I think it would be
good if you could upgrade to that anyway.

To solve this, execute,
sudo rm /var/cache/apt/*.bin
apt related cache and index are somewhat problematic, I personally at
least experienced twice. Cause is unknown (or it should be fixed now),
the solution is to delete cache and index (and execute #sudo update-apt-
xapian-index).
