I haven't heard of any problems with this part of the code (since I fixed one compiler bug causing a crash like you have described). What track were you driving in? Well, the good news is: this problem is fixed in our current SVN version - since the function causing the crash has been replaced :) So I would recommend to check out our current SVN version. I don't think that we have the time to fix an old 0.3 bug.
