I fixed my brightness keys by changing the DSDT. The modified DSDT is

I believe that it should be corrected at the acpica level, but the
problem is that the DSDT checks for the name of the OS and if
I believe it depends on the BIOS version you have. Mine is 301 and they
don't work, with edgy (or dapper, I don't remember) they used to work, but
since I updated the BIOS they stopped working. acpi_listen doesn't generate
any events when brightness keys are pressed, so I don't believe you can fix

Most likely the system ran out of physical memory. Then X crashed, the
screen was completely garbled and the system was irresponsive. The crash
most likely affected also the kernel (¿via the nvidia module?), since
attempts to login remotely via ssh resulted on connections bein

Same problem here, happened after i updated 52 packages, including
kernel and most of kde. My tmp dir is the default that got installed
