I fixed my brightness keys by changing the DSDT. The modified DSDT is here:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1889964&group_id=81433&atid=562934 I believe that it should be corrected at the acpica level, but the problem is that the DSDT checks for the name of the OS and if it's Linux, it doesn't generate ACPI events for the brightness keys! (naughty Asus). Anyway, I don't see how it can be solved but by modifying the DSDT.
