==> no need to minimize firefox after step 4,
Sorry for making noise, but what is the status of this bug for Oneiric Ocelot ?
Is it fix released ???
I can confirm it is still broken in latest (as of 2011-09-05) OO. I really
think this is an important bug as it will hit every one now and then, giving a
very bad felling about the system, espe
So should another bug report be opened for 11.10 (cause I can confirm it

@eden6000: ouch... not what is happening here. Choosing email from
message indicator definitely brings thunderbird up, even if the
application was currently minimized. And f I do that while working on a
non maximized window, thunderbird will be "displaced".

@eden6000: did you follow the "well known steps" :-) to reproduce the bug, ie:
1) open thunderbird maximized
2) minimize it
3) open firefox. Unmaximize it if it is not.
4) call back thunderbird via message indicator
This keeps triggering the bug here.

Ok, a few more tests in OO...
If I give _focus_ to thunderbird before I minimize it, the misplaced bug
does _not_ occur any more when called back from message indicator (but I
get a stacking bug, Firefox window staying on top but not getting
focus).
If I minimize Thunderbird directly after openin
Latest upgrade in OO (2011-09-06) seems to fix the issue ?? I cannot
reproduce anymore here.
But the stacking problem remains. I'm going to look for a bug report on
this one.

Another way to trigger the (supposedly same) bug:
1) open thunderbird
2) don't give it focus (don't click in the window), but minimize it
3) open firefox
4) bring thunderbird back using message indicator

Stacking problem seems to be described in #802527.
I added my steps to reproduce in a comment.

Here is a real life use case:
- franck open firefox and looks at a site

@Marco. I think this is slightly different. I am also hit by bug #802527
but this report is not really a bug, but more like a misbehaviour. In
particuliar, focus is on the right window, unlike what happens in

@shanekpiper: Yes. This is behaviour I'm seeing also, and I decided this
