Could you elaborate on how this one is different? Or is it just that

device busy. If you get the kill "usage" error then it just means there
were no such processes.
(Perhaps better written with xargs so you can avoid the spurious error
message:

Oh and Seth: the "substitution failed" is unrelated, it just means the
copy/paste of the command line was wrong. The command needs to be all on

is followed by the Real Time Clock driver and the IBM TrackPoint driver.

This appears to be a problem in the kernel or a related package, since
it manifests even on a system which doesn't have toshutils installed.
Feel free to reject against toshutils and reassign ... most likely in
accordance with this:
vnix$ dpkg -S
/lib/modules/2.6.17-11-generic/kernel/drivers/acpi
On second thought, maybe the permissions should remain, and wmtuxtime et
al. changed to cope accordingly instead (and then the bug assigned back
to toshutils)? Any opinions?

There's even a patch in Debian, although I think mine (from duplicate
bug #57912) is marginally better.
There's a similar bug against dpkg's install-info (bug #38538) which in
a way I suppose is the root cause.
