Exact issue on my laptop too (Lenovo Y40-80). Updated from 14.04 to
16.04 yesterday, and when I used to close the lid before, the laptop

Is there any change to add „enableofboot” by default into yaboot.conf?
This option add a quick access to the openfirware prompt from the yahoot
menu.
I'm using this option on my disabled ibook to eject a forgotten cd
without having to boot Ubuntu
As can not tell if the version number is good or bad but as I can see
the aspell-ro was updated in Jaunty to the latest version.
I am confident we could find a solution for this problem.
I will try to gather more knowledge about spellcheckers and how to work and try
to come with a solution.

Can you try install language support for Romanian or try to update the language
pack?
The translations are there and while hardy is not 100% translated intro
Romanian, 8.10 has more translations than 8.04
