I just installed Knot3 this morning, and the problem is still there.
I followed thge instructions in the link you gave me, but there is a problem:
when I try to apply the patch, it doesn't work. It says:
$ patch -Np1 -i < ffmpeg-
Hi again,
I tried another desktop recorder: "byzanz". It worked very well so I
attached the file ! Now you can see the bug in action ! :-)
Just a note about the file though... it is not recorded as a "video",
but as an "animated" GIF file. The "eye of Gnome" doesn't read animated
GIF files sadly
Same here...

Public bug reported:
I originally susbscribed to bug #60621 as I have the same symptoms
exactly (lack of splash and same error message from usplash), but the
bug title has apparrently been renamed and now only relates to halting
the system, and wide screens, none of which relates to my case, since
> We still need to figure out why for you no education icon is
displayed.
Do you mean that you can't reproduce the bug ? When you use the "clearlooks"
theme, you DO get an Education icon ???
Strange ! :-(
I mean, I made a 100% fresh installation of Edgy (Knot3), both for "real", and
also in VMwa
I can confirm that the bug is still there for Knot3-i386.
Sebastian, you don't need to actually burn the ISO on a CD, you can
(what I just did) just run it in a virtual machine like VMware for
example.
I am changing the bug title too, since it obviously doens't apply to
Knot1 only anymore...
**
I confirm this bug exists in edgy: I installed it today from knot3
liveCD, then I upgraded to get the latest changes.
I disagree with Seth: I tried both ndiswrapper and bcm43xx "drivers" and
I get the same result (see first description).
What can I do to help developers solving this bug?

Public bug reported:
When trying to manually edit the partition table on Xubuntu Edgy Eft beta, only
hda1, hda2 and sda are shown, while I wanted to edit hdb. The installer does
not crash or anything, it just doesn't show hdb.
The problem also occurs when just running Gparted from the LiveCD or

I just wanted to post how I managed to set the mount points of my
partitions, because it took me a while (and a few installs) to find it
out. I hope it helps someone.
First I partitioned my hard disk in a terminal window with "sudo gparted
/dev/hdb". Then I started the installer, and selected "Man
