I use the "Clearlooks" theme. I tried with the default Ubuntu theme, and the 
Education icon is there. 
I tried installing an application from the Education category, but that doesn't 
fix the problem, the icon is still missing in g-a-i. There IS an icon in the 
gnome menu, but although it's not the "red cross" icon, it's not really an 
"Education" icon either. It's just a "folder" icon, like there is in Nautilus 
etc.
