If it's your code, you should compile it with
gcc `xml2-config --cflags` -o foo foo.c
xml2-config is a script that creates the correct cflags for you (in a similar
way to how
pkg-config creates glib flags)

Actually I'm not sure whether selecting tracks is neccessary. I've got
it to hang for a couple of times without selecting tracks but so far
haven't managed to do so with tracks selected. It also doesn't hang
consistently - even when experimenting on the same directory. This might

Thanks for following up. Without the log files it's impossible to debug
the problem - the crash dialog alone doesn't help much. That said, I
think I'll have to reject this bug unless you can reproduce the error
and attach the log files. The Buffer I/O problems you describe are
indications of a faul
I guess that you will only have to rebuild the knotify package and wait
for a crash to happen - then you will get the backtrace with debugging
symbols from the crash handler.

I'm only speculating here, but chances are that if you did a custom
partitioning you forgot to format /, /usr/ or /var during the
installation, which is not supported ( bug 47046 is about the installer
not warning you of this ... ) At any rate, I think it's OK if I close
