I am unhappy with this workaround because the ligatures worked well in for
example Incspape.
As a workaround it would have been sufficient not to use DejaVu in Firefox
instead of affecting other programs that now suffer from an inferior
typographical quality when using DejaVu.
This is not a bug
I experience the bug (delayed (about 1 sec.) reaction of the drawer
applet) currently with compiz 1:0.6.0+git20071004-0ubuntu2.
Interestingly the drawer worked correctly together with compiz before an
update, i think, the compiz version it worked with was
1:0.5.2+git20070928-0ubuntu1 .

I was able to reproduce the bug under the following precondition:
The enable_animations-property for the panel contained by the drawer has to be
set to False.
(If set to True, the panel appears at the correct position)
Using desktop effects or not (and metacity instead) makes no difference.
Ver

the wrong position of the drawer's panel is another bug which I think is
discussed here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/140992
Nevertheless it is perhaps useful to have a workaround for the drawer-
delay-bug, if the wrong-position-bug gets fixed so that disabling

This is really a show-stopper and spoils the otherwise solid solution to
use Ubuntu and KVM for virtualization.
Why did nobody propose yet to shut down the VMs by the qemu-kvm script?
I think "stop qemu-kvm" should try to shutdown all running kvms and kill

I had already commented out that ppa because the release-upgrade wouldn't even
start with that ppa listed.
I have zoneminder frozen at the last release that actually works.
