I have identified an identical issue with Ubuntu 8.04.1 "Hardy", on a
Dell PowerEdge 2300 with a Sonnet Tempo ATA133 controller installed.
The Tempo is a 2-channel controller, based on the "Promise Technology,
Inc. 20269 (rev 02)." The controller was originally sold for use in a
Macintosh.

The attached drive does seem to be reported in dmesg (as "ata1.00:
ATA-4: IBM-DTTA-351010, T56OA73A, max UDMA/33"), but apparently doesn't
get recognized further, and no entry in /dev/ is created for it.

I will attach dmesg and lspci -vv output.
