I did not have to use the acpi=force option. With my setup it seemed turning off the cool and quiet option in the bios alleviated the shutdown reboot issue,however. I'm on a desktop machine so this is not an issue. Users who need cpu scaling may not want to turn of these types of options. On 11/26
