It took at least a minute (probably more) to start up on my mom's
computer also, every time.
But now that digikam-kde4 is gone from the repository, this bug report
is probably obsolete.

This slightly broke a development box of mine a few months ago. I didn't
look into it until now because it just caused some weirdness
occassionally (my sitecustomize.py does some fiddling with encoding &
locales to ensure cross-platform homogeneity which only usually affects
corner cases in my appl
I'm hitting some show-stopping bugs in beta 1. I'm also hoping beta 3
package shows up soon...

I've plugged this device into 3 different Kubuntu Hardy boxes, both
amd64 and i386, two desktops and a laptop (lenovo).
The drives are not detected on hot plug. However, after hotplug i find

Reading the comments here I noted the person who said they burned using
DAO and it worked. Strange, but I decided to give it a shot. It worked

to the filename, as well as adding counter to the end of the filename.

Same error here. Was downloading gcj-4.5-jre-lib, which is only 10.5 MB,
on a relatively fast connection. So I don't think file size or time had
anything to do with it; though perhaps those things increase
probability.

Battery out, and unplug for a while, worked for me also. (Lenovo T61,

Previously I tried booting with acpi=off, didn't help. I tried ifconfig
