I just came searching for kwallets disappearing and found this. My
wallet disapeared a week or so ago on my laptop, using Intrepid. What i
eventually discovered that in the kwalletmanager settings the "Kwallet
subsystem" had been disabled (unchecked)... i have no idea how that
could have happened. I haven't touched those settings. Just checking the
checkbox there brought my wallet back immediately.
Just leaving this note, though likely isn't the same bug (i have no kded
crash as far as I know), in case someone else searching for disapearing
wallet finds this... double check your settings, something may have
disabled the wallet system.
It'd be nice if when opening the kwalletmanager a person might be
informed immediately if the subsystem is disabled (and hence the empty
window being looked at is useless... except for providing a menu to get
into the settings).
