I want to get to the bottom of this problem, for it has just struck
again on my parents' two Ubuntu machines.

1) OpenOffice.org relies on myspell for spell-checking service
2) myspell needs dictionary files for each language-country combin

On a well loved but relatively clean dapper system, dist-upgrade cannot
resolve dependencies to do an upgrade.

command did not specify a mask, and so it created a mask. The mask was
'rwx', and so it had the same behavior as I saw. If the mask was set

'autoc', and then by repeating M-p you could search backwards through
the shell history for only those commands
The command bindings have changed.
Previous Input is now bound to M-p
But what I wanted was Previous Matching Current Input which is bound to
C-up...

During the partition resize I was presented with a slider. I found the
dialogue confusing; it was not immediately obvious what the value on the
slider represented. My

You cannot do any dist-upgrade or update-manager kernel upgrade,
hibernate and resume. GRUB picks the new kernel (which won't read the
suspend image) instead of the old one which can.

here's another trace after a similar crash. Silly me only installed the
libglib2.0-0-dbg package though... installed the others now. hopfully
this helps though.
