Sorry, that isn't what I'm asking for at all. I am asking for desktop
switching, not window switching (which I already know about).
To translate to KDE (Kwin) terminology, window switching is called "Walk

I can confirm this on the same laptop (brand new Dell Inspiron 9400). I
have noticed the keyboard itself dying sometimes as well. This only
occurs with 64-bit Edgy. 32-Bit Edgy works beautifully.

I had a similar problem here, using the default rt2500pci driver. I
found that my Belkin RT2500-based PCI card would not see or connect to
any wireless points unless I pulled out my wired Ethernet card (leaving
the wireless as the only network interface). After this, NetworkManager
would be able to

The solution outlined in fanatic's last post has made my console
visible. I didn't have to use any vga settings in grub.

I should add that this has seemingly messed up my bootsplash. It is now
of a lower resolution, and is offset to the right to the point where
half of it is on the right edge of the screen and the rest is wrapped
around onto the left. I've experimented with a few different resolutions
in /etc/usplash

When installing/configuring apt-build, I am asked if a modification can
be made to my apt sources. I don't have a /etc/apt/sources.list file,
instead using files in /etc/sources.list.d. This causes the apt-build
installation to fail. Adding a /e
It does sound easiest to just create a sources.list if it doesn't exist,
instead of bothering with sources.list.d. I don't know of any problems
which would arise from this.

Alright, so this isn't just stuck to 6.10
Just upgraded to 64 bit feisty(kubuntu though that shouldn't make a HUGE
difference), and well, similar problems persist. No shutdown, SATA not being
detected. Please help. I can't afford new hardware :|
