I decided to convert my whole audio library to ogg and to apply
replaygain in the process, so I used soundkonverter (+ associated
programs : mp3gain, oggenc...).
It works, except that when I launch the conversion of too many files, it make

I installed lm_sensors and it's true that the CPU heats a lot, but stays
within the Intel recommended limit... I will make other tests to check
the temperature theory.

I just made the test using cpuburn. The system stayed stable during 5 min at
nearly 70°C (didn't want to test any longer...) while soundkonverter crashed at
65°C.
So if it's a temperature matter, it doesn't seem related to CPU (or to any
other temperature I can monitor, they don't change while c
Ok I think I found the solution, it was temperature after all. I went into the
BIOS (didn't find any other way to control fanspeed) and put my CPU fan in
optimal mode (instead of quiet, which is enough in normal cases).
Now the CPU stays below 60°C and I just converted hundreds of files without a
