I just made the test using cpuburn. The system stayed stable during 5 min at nearly 70°C (didn't want to test any longer...) while soundkonverter crashed at 65°C. So if it's a temperature matter, it doesn't seem related to CPU (or to any other temperature I can monitor, they don't change while converting).
