This failed because /usr/share/fonts/wine was not empty, most likely
because you manually installed a font there (Tahoma perhaps?) As a
rule, package upgrades don't delete manually installed user files, so
this failure was "correct"
The correct place to put those fonts is in ~/.wine/drive_c/windo

I installed Intrepid fresh onto this laptop (HP Pavilion dv9540us), and
the alert sounds don't play. Instead, whenever I make one of the rather
common mistakes that cause an alert sound (such as hitting backspace one

The issue is that Gnometris is being very stupid about rendering - every
frame it's rendering every single svg brick separately. This is why it
gets slower with more bricks on the screen even when they're the same
color. If it did some sort of caching this likely wouldn't be an issue.

Is there any reason to have separate eject/unmount for USB sticks? To
my knowledge there's no harm from ripping out an unmounted USB stick, so
the eject button might as well simply unmount it in that case.
