I have what I believe is a related problem. It seems that Compiz

For example, I have set the animation for "Minimize Animation" to be

Sorry to post so many new messages...but I've also noticed that when all

As a work around for those annoyed by this...I've been using GIMP to take

check out this script someone wrote here (note that I have NOT tested it
myself):

Same for me. I have the additional complication of needing to use ALSA
so I can get AC3 passthrough for movies which Pulse doesn't seem to
allow for some reason. With Pulse mixer set to output regular stereo I
can get system sounds in stereo and AC3 passthrough on XBMC (but not VLC
or MediaPlayer).
I'd just like to add an observation that the CD/DVD drive ejects just
fine if you press the software eject button next to the drive in the
Places sidebar of the File browser. This is pretty inconvenient for a
HTPC however. The point is that maybe it would be easier to catch a
hardware button press
I also have this problem - it is very annoying. On all three machine
upgrades. Nearly everything installed (including system files) show up
in the (manual) folder and tzdata as well as other non-obsolete packages
show up in (local and obsolete).
