Public bug reported:

I have scheduled daily backups for a laptop to be kept forever on a
drive that is often disconnected from the laptop. I connect it when I
can; when I connect it, it both starts a backup and gives an error that
an operation is already pending. Being forced to close a message every
time I connect the drive that an operation is already pending is
apparently a bug. Please fix it so that the backup starts without
telling me an operation (presumably the backup that starts) is already
pending.
