I have read through that bug a few times, and at least for me, there are
a couple key differences. I don't get as far as the splash screen, and
pressing a key does nothing to continue the boot process. A the point
it happens, I am dead in the water. I will never be able to install

I beg to differ. I have a feeling the people who simply see the error
message, and the people who's systems completely hang are likely being
affected by the same bug. The difference is the severity of how it
affects individual machines, not the bug itself.
As I stated, I have 2 machines,
I just tested on my 3rd machine, an HP with an AMD64 x2 5000+. I
receive the error message with it as well, however booting from the CD
continues on this machine.
Kind of blows my hanging occurs on dual core AMD theory. It must be

I am having the same issue. SMB4K will browse the windows network
reliably, but Dolphin will not. I am able to mount a windows share just

is still being replaced or a second default gateway is added with the IP
address for the AT&T Tilt. Unplugging the device removes the default gateway.

I do have a built in USB hub on the ACER that will not install. It sits on
top of the pc and you press down to expose four usb ports. This may be the
problem. I will have to try and install with the the hub discontected from
the mother board.

desktop.
The volume and sound works perfectly, my problem is that Gnome doesn't
use the the master volume slider by default for both Dapper and Edgy..
i.e. When I use the volume buttons on
pt-get dist-upgrade,apt-get upgrade,auto-apt
acpid.Tried dpkg-reconfigure debconf.
Maybe I'll uninstall acpi-support and let you know what happens.

I also have the same issue, but connecting with my nokia 7710 - Can scan
and find Bluetooth devices but when trying to connect it fails. Mobile
phone saying "connection lost" I think it’s dropping the connection.

After installing a program called Blueman everything is working fine..
This app is SO good id recommend it be installed as a core part of
ubuntu on next release!

I think this so called bug was just a Super poor attempt and linking
bluetooth into ubuntu and this app has fix

my predicament. But give it a shot. If you get the same result, then it
looks as if I was right. If not, I guess it's just me.
I know next to nothing about ALSA and even less about PulseAudio.

One more thing...
I've been having problems with this card in Linux since I got this
computer (back in late 2004). It's been hit or miss and lots of
tweaking (in the pre-PulseAudio) days.
And in Windows Vista it's almost as bad.
So, I decided to switch to a (hopefully) better card. I'm getting
