I can confirm this issue on the Gateway T-6828, both under ALSA

When I was debugging the segfault problem I noticed that the device
didn't seem to reset its session state.
I had to unplug the device, wait for a few seconds, and plug it back in.
Are the PTP error messages all related to the session? If so, the
unplug, re-plug workaround might resolve them.

I get a similar error when loading up since upgrading to Intrepid from
Hardy (goes by a little fast for me to read mind). Checking

At some point over the last couple of hours, it worked. When I got up
this morning, it wasn't mounted. When I logged in from work, it was
mounted and the keyctl show and cat show the same thing now. So, I'm

I don't have anything special that I can think of. I installed Intrepid
with A5, copied my home directories from my old notebook, and have been
keeping things up to date. (I have proposed updates and every other
kind of update selected in Sysaptic.) I am also using Bios A01.

I had this problem with a Dell D600 upon upgrading to Intrepid. Adding
the appropriate section to xorg.conf as mentioned by blue above fixed
the problem for me.

I just got my Dell E6400, and did try suspend and resume once, and it
worked for me, but I only tried it once. I am using Intripid Ibex and
my kernel is given by:
$ uname -r
2.6.27-3-generic

The device I am having problems with is a WUSB54GS v2.1 instead of a
v2.0, but I imagine it's not worth opening another bug until it's
determined whether or not it is a unique problem. (Note that the S on
the end denotes Speed Booster technology.. Really not sure if that
affects compatibility or
