One further comment. In the case of vmware ading mpt drivers to the /etc
/initramfs-tools/modules file and regenerating initramfs fixed the
problem. But I think that they should be autodetected as it was before.

I can confirm this bug. It stopped to work after update from the edgy
beta CD install to the current state. The repositories dialog shows the
same error. The LANG trick does not help. I am also using polish
version.

On lucid 32bit with Intel and also on ATI graphics (proprietary driver tested)
some terrain scenes are corrupted. The standard one for example. They show a

Karmic upgrade
On recent upgrade the message is very similar except the command is not
invoke-rc.d but service. But the effect is the same anyway. If I comment
out "service procps start" in wine.postinst all installs fine.

I am not sure but the performance looks the same (poor 4-7FPS).
