I am having the same problem. My computer config is: Core 2 Duo E6300,
Gigabyte GA-965P-S3, 2 GB RAM, eVga 7900GS, Pioneer DVR-112D.
I have tried a few different configurations. If I have the FDD in or if
I have it disabled, I get the error above. If I have no FDD in, but it's
enabled in the BIOS,
I've been looking whenever I can for solutions/work-arounds and I found
that someone else with a similar problem created a "Core 2 Duo Support"
page in the Ubuntu Wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Core_2_Duo_Support). I
