I am having the same problem. My computer config is: Core 2 Duo E6300, Gigabyte GA-965P-S3, 2 GB RAM, eVga 7900GS, Pioneer DVR-112D.
I have tried a few different configurations. If I have the FDD in or if I have it disabled, I get the error above. If I have no FDD in, but it's enabled in the BIOS, I get "[xx.xxxx] Buffer I/O error on device fd0, logical block 0". Booting into the alternate CD, I get to the "Detect CD Drive" step. but it can't find one. Listing the contents of /dev/, I can see that there is no "cdrom". My DVD drive is connected to the only IDE port on the board. I hope this information helps anyone trying to fix this problem. I really want to try out Feisty. -- boot - /bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
