I am having the same problem. My computer config is: Core 2 Duo E6300,
Gigabyte GA-965P-S3, 2 GB RAM, eVga 7900GS, Pioneer DVR-112D.

I have tried a few different configurations. If I have the FDD in or if
I have it disabled, I get the error above. If I have no FDD in, but it's
enabled in the BIOS, I get "[xx.xxxx] Buffer I/O error on device fd0,
logical block 0".

Booting into the alternate CD, I get to the "Detect CD Drive" step. but
it can't find one. Listing the contents of /dev/, I can see that there
is no "cdrom". My DVD drive is connected to the only IDE port on the
board.

I hope this information helps anyone trying to fix this problem. I
really want to try out Feisty.
