The funny thing is that when I turn off WiFi and Bluetooth using manual
switch, the option "Enable wireless" is no longer grayed-out! When I re-
enable it, it's gone again. It should be the opposite I guess...
It used to work before (on Karmic, too). I had to reinstall Karmic and now it's

I have the same problem. I've also tracked it down to x264. There's no
relation to mkv as it is only a container, same problem occurs with mp4
files.

I'm not sure if reboot is not required. I activated the STA driver and I saw
wifi networks but when I tried to connect to one of them, my system freezed.
Only after a reboot everything works OK.

When I run a lot of apps (like games, e.g. World Of Goo; DOSBox etc.) in
fullscreen mode, when I go back to the desktop, brightness boost up to
maximum (which, in my Dell Latitude E6500, is really high).
Steps to reproduce:
1) run DOS

Did You do 'sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade' first? I think this
was fixed after RC release, so You have to upgrade first.

I fully updated OS and installed the Broadcom STA driver. My system hung
(see bug 423479), but after a reboot I don't have WiFi working. Is this
somehow connected to the fact that it's still LiveCD or is

system works fine.

Thanks thecure! Now I at least don't hear this highly annoying buzz
sound. I only had to disable the "Audible Bell" option, it works
afterwards.
The bug is still valid and unsolved, though - system sounds should work,
anyway... Now instead of them there is silence (it's better than

I fully agree. Especially that former versions of usb-creator didn't
show all these additional entries, only a pendrive partition. Now I see
