A user must be a member of the lpadmin group to modify printer settings in
system-config-printer.
A member of the admin group cannot modify these settings.

The in the Power Management Preferences window,
On AC Power and On Battery Power tabs, is a nice feature. However, it
dims the display too quickly for my taste. It would be nice to be able
to select a period of time before it dims, say from 5

Gutsy Tribe 3: Right click the menu bar and select Edit Menus.
GNOME displays the Main Menu window.
Click New Menu button. The button dims momentarily but does not open the
Directory Properties menu as it does under Feisty.
The New Item button has no effect either.

Yup, Update Manager says my system is up to date. Did you see the second
part of my post wherein I say the buttons work but the windows they
display appear under other windows on the Workspace? If you have not
already done so, open a large window and then go through the steps I

Wow! For all the years I have been working with Linux I have never seen
anything happen so fast. I am impressed and gratified, which will encourage

The init.d/mysql script suggests using a program named force-reload.
That program does not exist.
Either the program should exist or the message should be changed.
See the following.
