Yup, Update Manager says my system is up to date. Did you see the second part of my post wherein I say the buttons work but the windows they display appear under other windows on the Workspace? If you have not already done so, open a large window and then go through the steps I describe. Can you see the small window the New Menu/Item buttons display? Other than that I do not know what to say...Thanks for your prompt response.
