Recently upgraded 2 computers to Kubuntu 18.04 and I'm also seeing this
problem in that the Kubuntu splash screen stays up for ages. As I have
only just upgraded my only other kernel was from 4.13. Installing
haveged seems to have fixed it on one computer at least.

but copying the 2 files I mentioned earlier also fix it. One thing I

If I start Kamoso and deselect the option to "Use flash" in the settings
menu, when I quit and then start Kamoso again the "Use Flash" option is
selected again.

Removing gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad has stopped me from playing certain
videos in SMPlayer recorded on my phone:

Hope this gets fixed soon as I upgraded the wife's computer at the
weekend and only came across this bug after she turned computer on for
the first time after the upgrade.
This is with a keyboard/mouse combination and this bug causes both to

guvcview crashes when starting to record video
I've started seeing this with Kubuntu 13.04 since about a week ago with
a Asus M5A78L motherboard. When it hangs, I am able to switch to another
tty, but can't type anything else. I also noticed an error about uvesafb
not being configured correctly.

The error I get is:

uvesafb: make sure that the v86d helper is installed and executable

When I next reboot, it stops at the GRUB screen until I select an

Upgraded my netbook from Kubuntu 12.04 to 12.10 and noticed that k3b had
been installed which I don't need as it doesn't have an optical drive,
but when I run apt-get remove k3b, it wants to remove the package
language-pack-kde-en:
