Hi, I'm in contact with Michael Hanke and I synced his debian packages
into my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~mms-prodeia/+archive/ppa).
So both, qlandkartegt & the corresponding garmindev package are
available from there. Don't know if it helps syncing to Lucid?!

After my upgrade to karmic, thumbnailing wasn't working as before ;(
Espacially wmv-files have problems and thumbnailing seems slower than
with jaunty's mplayerthumbs-package.
As I read this bug, I downgraded to jaunty's version and all is working
well again!

I think, we have a problem here, that needs to be solved on multiple
issues.

This one is an upstream bug at libreoffice, so updating to a newer

As 14.04 is a LTS, it should get fixed.

"In Progress" ??
That idea is not a good idea ;)
Development of MMS has nearly stopped right now! I'm even having
problems packaging it for my PPA cause of missing em8300-headers in
Ubuntu/Debian.
As I'm working on the packages since early days, it would be nice to
know, what "in progress" means

There's something terribly wrong with what you're trying to do!!
My guess:
You mix up repositories without knowing what you do.
Pls post the following output:
apt-cache policy garmindev qlandkartegt qlandkartegt-garmin
Thx
--
package qlandkartegt-garmin (not installed) failed to install: Vers
As I said, you mix up repos!
Do:
sudo apt-get remove garmindev --purge
And now, if you want distribution's versions, do also:
sudo apt-get remove glandkartegt
sudo apt-get install qlandkartegt qlandkartegt-garmin
Or, if you want newer versions, do instead:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mms-prodeia
This is no bug, but a problem coming from mixing repositories!

after resume the shading are real circles, which leads me to the
opinion, that the color-depth is different
