I use rtl8180. Ubuntu 9.04. and and ubuntu 9.10
If i try to connect to a Wep netwrok i get a freeze and have to hard
power cycle the machine to get it back. Nothing is written to
/var/log/messages
I can live with this since i dont really use wep anywhere important.
Main issue is that the when

Hi, i'm fully up to date yes.
I did some playing around and found that by running sudo
/etc/init.d/restart stop it will restart. But this is as far as i have
got and i have no idea why running that script works(sort of)

a couple of month and i have given up trying.
I can switch it on and off with the button but i cant see any difference
in lsmod with it on and with it off. I just dont know which module it

ok i'm back, I did a clean install and i was able to reboot for a while,
then i installed the 250Mb of updatesand it stopped. I'm back at square
one.
I looked at the suspected modem issues, modem-manager in particular and
eventually killed the process off entirely and renamed the binary to
stop it
i'm currently removing all the software i installed to see if any of
that is causing it.

I contacted Realtek by email since nobody answered this bugtrack thread,
whats the point in encouraging people to post here if nobody answers?
Anyway, they were fairly helpful and emailed me this driver to compile
on Karmic, It works, i still get drop outs but it is not as bad as the
stock driver
I also experience issue 2. (on bionic) of this bug: even though messages
are read and correctly marked as read in Thunderbird window, the red
notification on Thunderbird dock icon is not updated.

Same problem here: Toshiba T130-15F with Conexant CX20582. Microphone
not working Lucid (and Linux Mint 9). Tried Maverick from live USB and
mic is mute as well
