Thanks for the report. I've done some additional investigation. It
appears that CONFIG_RTC being enabled is dependent on CONFIG_RTC_LIB
being disabled. For the Intrepid kernel however, CONFIG_RTC_LIB is in
fact enabled:

information, the patch referenced is already in the upcoming Intrepid
Ibex 8.10 Ubuntu kernel. If you'd like to test the latest Alpha for the

I notice in one of your original comments you are running a Dell. Can
you try booting with the 'reboot=b' boot option? Does this help resolve
