BTW, is the 64 bit version of Kubuntu 6.10

After further investigation, another bug was discovered.
Package: Synaptic 0.57.11.1ubuntu4 installed after initial install,
upgrade from synaptic (0.57.11.1ubuntu5) to 0.57.11.1ubuntu6, package
version does not reflect upgraded package under He

Unfortunately I am not sure that these 2 bug reports are identifying the
same issue, after my review.
I have since upgraded to synaptic
