I'm experiencing this as well. EEE PC 900, fresh install of Ubuntu
8.04.1.. After a reboot, WPA2 resets to WPA, and I have to re-enter the
password and set it to WPA2 again if I want to connect to the same
network I was connected to before the reboot.
Why is this set to low priority? Basic network

I read in a forum that the "bug" program was the reason why "cannot
fetch" keeps coming up. This seems to be a problem for loading new apps
only when fetching from repository.

A sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop also installs one package ( 2.82
) that is 45.1 kb in size. Seems to me that the package is broken. How
can I install a correct Xubuntu desktop to check?

the meta-package is a little light.
dpkg -l xfce* shows many many packages
dpkg -L xfce* gets me "Package 'xfce*' is not installed"
This is after I verified that xubuntu-desktop is installed.

It doesn't include the base-desktop or xfce.
That seems wrong to me.

I can confirm this is a bug, I have reproduced it with 3 different USB
sticks all of which have worked in the past with usb-creator.
I have tested with both jaunty-desktop-i386.iso and jaunty-desktop-
amd64.iso, the RC candidate isos. I have also tested booting those USB
sticks on 3 different mac
I finally got a live usb to boot (worked around bug 358881) of
desktop-i386, Xorg works fine on the same classmate.

On the screen at boot I get the blue screen that says X failed to start
in 90s. If I drop to a shell and run startx I get the exact same output
that is in the gdm log attached above and nothing more.

My G965 box is dog slow with EXA and incredibly fast with UXA. This

I formated this usb stick since the past several install tests for UNR
chasing another bug, I re-imaged it and tried again and now all works.
So I guess it was corrupt... but not so corrupt it didnt' work at all.

On jaunty RC, this issue is gone. Works a treat.
The SCSI ZIP drive now shows as a "mass storage device", and is getting
seen correctly.
Jaunty is very slick indeed. It's very impressive.
