Fonts installed using msttf
After some googling & investigation I found out that Nimbus Sans substitutes
Helvetica when fonts-urw-base35 package is installed but it does not render
correctly on some sites compared to Soto Sans or Arial. Running 'fc-match
Helvetica' returns 'NimbusSans-Regular.otf: "Nimbus Sans" "Regular"'
Updated the css workaround with correct font names, now works with all
combinations of bold/italic, including test html below

dpkg in one command.

This is related to recent xz cve, the repositories might be broken
packages as being rebuilt. Check your other issue (about libzvbi0), you
need apt pinning override to be able to install packages properly as I
described more detailed there.
You might want to check apt-cache policy for affected pac
Currently the noble repositories are the mostly broken, related to
recent xz backdoor cve (CVE-2024-3094). Meanwhile you may want to add an
override to your apt configuration, create a file in
/etc/apt/preferences.d with contents similar to below, where pinning >
1000 would mean package could be do
Did you add the override file to correct location
(/etc/apt/preferences.d/)? Don't forget to run 'apt clean' and 'apt
update' changing configuration. Also check your apt-cache policy, post
outputs of 'apt-cache policy gparted gparted-common' and 'apt install
gparted' and also contents of any file
Another note, don't forget gaps (new line) between pinning rules, w/o
the gap pinning doesn't work correctly, I found hard way by testing.

related to the backdoor in xz (liblzma) package. The cve number is
CVE-2024-3094, many packages might be broken as they're being rebuilt

Currently noble release repositories appear mostly be fixed as I tested
so far, the release now can be bootstrapped w/o problems when using
latest version of debootstrap. It can be run by installing latest deb or
otherwise running it according to README in the .tar.gz file (it could

I guess you're right, also the apt repositories appears to work again,
as most of packages and dependencies would install w/o extra changes in
apt config. If you added an apt override you can safely remove it as
most of software can be installed w/o it, also bootstrapping this
release using deboot
You can remove an apt override since apt repositories this release are
fixed, also now bootstrapping using latest debootstrap release it should
work as I noted in your other issue.
