Trying to run tomcat in Intrepid using the /etc/init.d script against
java-1.5.0-sun JVM results in:

running the java command manually shows a little more detail:

for what its worth, i've also seen the system hard freeze when trying to
connect to a wireless network. I've also only gotten 2 or 3 successful
boots (of course the first boot after upgrade worked!) in 15-20 tries
before booting from the install cd and blacklisting iwl3945 in
/etc/modprobe.d.

After using the 5-second sleep workaround to boot successfully, I'm
seeing random lockups when the kill switch is disabled (wireless
enabled). I'm plugged into ethernet, and network-manager is grabbing
IPs on both the wired (tg3) and
I am in a production 8.04 environment and cannot do tests on later
versions, but you can take the .ppt I posted and try it yourself.
Also, I had the same problem in the past week at a conference, where we
tried converting a file with a gradient to PDF on both Windows
OpenOffice and Mac NeoOffice.
I am using the ibex with all updates and suspend and resume work
properly. The issue I am seeing is that upon resuming my wireless does
not work. It shows up in ifconfig but does not find any networks. Anyone
else see something similar? Also, I have installed the latest BIOS
update.

versions. In emacs-22.1-0ubuntu10.1 the one time I tried it, it did not
occur. I don't know what the condition was that sometimes triggered it
in prior versions, so I can't know whether it is fixed or not.

I also encountered the problem. The temp fix worked (thanks), but it
was quite scary the first time evolution checked my mail. All the
errors piled up and I was anticipating a crash. A permanent fix would
be nice to see.

I'm having the exact same problem as Rory McCann; when my secret key is
encrypted with a passphrase, the prompt asking for the password (or
asking to use the cached password) appears behind Thunderbird. This is
really annoying since it freezes Thunderbird, and it's not obvious why
until you notice

I agree with Brad. This is a bug that occurs on a key bit of software
when performing a simple common operation, and that effectively kills
the entire PC requiring a reset. And yes, I know that you can switch to
another terminal and kill the evolution process (I've had to do that
more than enough t

I've just recieved a bit of Chinese spam, and when I deleted it it was
displayed with a strikethrough.
So I changed the font I use and that fixed the strikethrough problem.
However it has not fixed the cursor problem.

is not only unnecessary but it borks the permissions of
/var/lib/puppet... to the package maintainer:
puppetd runs as root because it does the actual changing of config files
