Just to let you know, I tried the Gutsy RC Desktop installation on my
computer, and ran into the same problem. I get the initial menu, pick
the Install/Run option, see the Kernel progress bar, and then receive
the same message listed above. Obviously, since I can't load the O/S,

Just an update, the allocation error is still occurring in the official
release of Gutsy. I am using the standard desktop-i386 live CD. As with
tribe 5, I select the run or install option from the opening menu, see
the kernel progress bar, and then get the allocation error. It was

I was on myspace.com, had received a friend request, and chose to deny
it. I clicked on the checkbox to select the person, hit the Deny
Selected button, and a message box was supposed to pop up asking me if I
really wanted to do that, giving the option to select yes or no.
