I've taken a brief look at this and I'm not sure how the version
could have gotten into this broken state (and I have verified that
it is broken, as reported). I've just used autoppa-switch on trunk
as:
autoppa-switch 1.0.24-0ubuntu0 intrepid
and it generates the right version string:

I used 'apt-get remove --purge' and reinstalled and everything
worked fine. I wasn't paying enough attention when the problem
first occurred to provide more insightful information, but figured

The real problem is actually in euca2ools. The issue is that it
assumes HOME will be defined in the environment and ends up running
os.path.join(HOME, ...) with HOME as None and then everything blows
up. The "'NoneType' object has no attribute 'endswith'" bubbles up
as a result of this.

I've tested this in Landscape with several configuration files
changed:
- I added an alias to /etc/bash.bashrc (I believe something like
this broke when Andreas was testing this the other day)
- I set 'fsync = off' in /etc/postgresql/8.4/main/postgresql.conf
- I added a line to /etc/hosts.deny
This same bug happened to me. I installed lucid/alpha3 (fresh
install) and added my accounts. For whatever reason, they got
"lost" after I restarted Gwibber. So I added them again. Then, a
few days ago I noticed that I had duplicates. I did the same as
Jono, removed the duplicates, and now thi
