trying to suspend to ram does not work. at best, nothing happens except
the screen lock and i need to login. but sometimes, X crashes and i
loose all my work. this happens both if i try to suspend manually or if
i close the lid. can't see anything of value in dmesg,

I have been using linux for 12 years, the last 8 exclusively. And
professionally I've always used Unix / Linux. And I'm about to quit.
