I confirm this for mozilla-plugin-vlc on intrepid.
Firefox plays once a WAV as sound embed. The second time a WAV should be
played, it crashes.
Removing mozilla-plugin-vlc solves the issue. Then the totem plugin is used
which works fine.

I don't think this is a compiz issue. I installed from scratch 7.10 and
everything works. Also a test account was all fine. X, compiz, keyboard,
all fine.
Then I took the harddisk with the /home from another 7.04 install and
tried to login to those users (after updating /etc/passwd of course). I

what I did to make it work:
move the home dir somewhere else and create a completely empty one with
the same user and mode
then login. it works.
logout again.
move everything except dot files to the working homedir.
also move those dotfiles you know have nothing to do with gnome, like .mozilla
upgrading to the latest flash plugin solved most of the issues, so it was the
plugin's fault.
I still see problems when I have sound in java applets. So that's another
plugin needing an update on it's sound management.

I just found out about this, wanting to urgently use my webcam. G.
In camorama, the "small" size works (i.e. a picture, not grey).
After applying the above script (thanks a lot!) I found that the script is
dependent on the kernel version for the cp part.
I suggest this:

interesting is that I can use xbindkeys to bind "xvidtune -next" to about any
keyboard combination except for Control+Alt+KP_Add

order was different than in previous versions of the installer. Grub
tried to install to hd0. It should have been the third scsi drive but I
didn't know if there was a chroot involved so it took a while to figure

Hello,
Thank you for reporting this bug. However, this doesn't looks like a bug
to me : The update fails because there is no free space, and the update
applet tells you so and gives you advice on how to free some space. It
looks like to me that it's the normal behaviour.
I'm marking the bug as in

In order to update the system, you need enough free space to install the
updated software. You should free some space in order to be able to
update.
