I'm running an up-to-date version of Feisty (upgraded from Edgy, rather
than a re-install) on a fairly high-end AMD box. Sound worked fine under
Edgy, but now I get a strange error when I try to play a sound. This is
in a pop-up dialog box:

I will also point out that I either get that "audiotestsrc" error in a
pop up, or I get no error at all but no sound at all. Other bug reports

ever editing this file, so I think it must be an instal/config script

Actually, my previous comment about the "asouund.conf" misspelling
seemed to be it. I fixed the spelling and rebooted, and now I have
sound.

Installing 6.10 (edgy eft) libtktable-dev/libtktable (installed both so I'm not
100% sure which is faulty) installs a bad pkgIndex.tcl file which makes it
impossible
for Tcl users to:

With a fresh profile, both the current Feisty and upstream (20070305,
last message was a typo) versions display an error and do not crash. It
only fails silently in the Feisty version when using my normal profile,
which I don't want to touch with the upstream version, just in case.

The bug appears to have been resolved with the latest upgrades available
this morning. Music played at normal speed on rhythmbox in my
VirtualBox vm. I took it a step farther and installed pulseaudio again,
and everything was working as it should.

I'm not sure why, but pulseaudio seems to insist on using a ton of
memory, on the order of 2.5 GB. (I have 4GB of physical RAM.) It starts
off using little, but gradually takes more and more, even if music isn't
playing. I just noticed this beh
