I have the same issue in Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. Printing to my Canon MX870
was fine in 3.13.0-68-generic but Ive been unable to print using any of

Public bug reported:
My Canon MX870 was printing ok in Ubuntu 14.04 till maintenance install
of kernels after 3.13.0-68-generic.
I'm currently running kernel 3.13.0-74-generic and if I want to print I
have to reboot and select 3.13.0-68-generic.
When I start a print in later kernels with the bug

I should also add that printing was ok in 3.13.0-61 ,63, 65 stopped in
3.13.0-66, was ok in 3.13.0-68, and stopped in 3.13.0-71 and all others
after that including 3.13.0-77.
It woud seem that what ever bug was introduced in 3.13.0-66 and fixed in
3.13.0-68 and then regressed in 3.13.0-71 needs

I dont fully understand this process especially the "git" commands , so
I cant be sure I'm not going to invalidate my current system somehow, so
at this time I'm unable to proceed. I'll just have to hope the fix in
4.5-rc4 magically appears in a future kernel.. Thanks for your
assistance.

After installing 11.10 I did get get kernel panic on an ASUS EPC900ax .
The RT2800 wireless driver was consistently listed in the panic text.
Panics only occured when running on battery - ok on power.
I was previously using 11.04 without an issue.

Yes I found also that blacklisting rt2800 etc without installing the rt2860
drivers (as I did via the deb in my previous post) leaves you with no
wireless function.
In 11.04 my Rt3090 wireless on the asus ePC900ax was using rt2860 driver. This
