It happens always after a few minutes of ide time. Stops upon user imput

You can easily rebuild the module by first typing "apt-get source hal" in an
empty directory. Enter the hal directory and issue sudo dp

When I see this freezing in Gutsy, one can still click on the applets
and buttons (e.g. the menu), but the icons are not updated with the
mouseover highlight. This is the case for all buttons and applets. The
most annoying part is that the clock doesn't update.

In all respects, the sound setup under Gutsy appears on the surface the
same as it did under Feisty, and mostly works the same, except the
built-in microphone does not work at all, regardless of how I tune the
"volume" sliders, even the ones which started as hidden. In Feisty
I also have the same problem.
The system would suspend when it was idle for 20 minutes, as the settings
instruct it. Upon waking it would immediately go into hibernation. GPM was
never set to hibernate in any situation.
Manually suspending works as expected.

script. I did an apt-get upgrade again and it finished ok.

Compiz sometimes leaves behind the window shadowing for menu and tooltip

no way to get rid of them other than recreating the window in exactly

install would hang on the preconfigure script. I just killed the preconfigure
scripts and purged the package.

The workaround in question is to use the argument RxIntDelay=8 while modprobing
the module.
