Going into HDA Analyser and changing it from GRD to HIZ again seems to do the
trick.

works nicely for me.
Also, if it causes trouble for you, you can just remove or comment out

I've applied it on 5 computers here at work w/ no issues an
Ubunto package search for foomatic-filters 4.0.4-0ubuntu2. gave no
result.

Further investigation of this issue has seen me return to the vanilla
Xorg.conf (without SHMConfig turned on). The issue can be described more
simply as follows.
1. syndaemon, as launched by the default Intrepid install, is using XInput to
change the touchpad properties.

When I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10, the button on my Asus laptop that
toggled the touchpad on and off stopped working. The button is
controlled by the included /etc/acpi/asus-touchpad.sh, which uses
synclient to toggle the touchpad state. I turned on SHMConfig in my

actually was still running, though I killed it and restarted with same
arguments. But that didn't fixed it. I restarted X with

It seems that usually happens when I plug in an USB keyboard.
And the keymapping are coming from xorg.conf.
Though, sometimes the keyboard indicator shows that I have 3 different keyboard
layouts, one is USA and 2 other are some weird characters (like a tiny "z" etc).

Using Jaunty64 Evolution 2.26.1.
I have a calendar connected to M$Exchange and when I add my Google calendar, I
get the"quit unexpectedly" error. What trace/debug/etc can I attach to help?

I am getting the same problem on my Sony DVD drive (DRU-830A) using
Brasero.

Opened Brasero, clicked the button to start an Audio CD
Dragged the mp3 from my desktop to the Brasero window and dropped it

Should this have been reported upstream, or what needs done to fix it?
Because I am still leaving the clear browser history check-box un-
checked, but would like to check it and preserve my saved tabs. With it

Firefox only restores previous session/tabs when restarting after disabling
an extension, if Browsing History is cleared at close.

I can confirm that this bug in still in Intrepid.
Interestingly, I only noticed it after doing an apt-get install kubuntu-
desktop. I had been using amarok in GNOME with no problems, but the
problems only started after switching to KDE.
