pd is not starting the UI, if started via "sudo -u XX puredata".
The problem seems to be that puredata tries to read configuration files from
HOME/, which are then not accessible and thus startup stops.
What works is:
sudo -u XX bash
export HOME=/tmp

It looks like the problem is solved. I don't exactly know what the solution is.
But what I did is following the tip from Cement Head (CH) and today I've
received an Alsa-update after restarting (twice) the standby-resume works fine.
Maybe Ewen can confirm this?

Just wanted to add that this is still a problem in Lucid 10.04.
The workaround of moving the shared library bundled with Thunderbird
(/usr/lib/thunderbird-3.1.7/libldap60.so) and linking the system wide
libldap (/usr/lib/libldap-2.4.so.2) into its place fixed the problem.
Though I haven't done muc
Purging xserver-xorg-video-nouveau worked here as well. FWIW: The box
hasn't been touched for some months. Probably should have tried this
sooner.

I've got a hp compaq nc6220. After standby, when i resume my laptop the
speakers don't work. My headphone port works normally.
Is there a solution for this?

I'm using 2.6.32.23-generic. So the conclusion is: the solution is not
in the PPA but in the kernel upgrade (?). I'm really happy with this.
Ubuntu (linux) rocks.
