I confirm this bug (no japanese fonts in pdf) gets solved installing
poppler-data.
So it seems the fix consists in adding a new dependency to evince and/or
japanese localization packages.

I just tested that workaround. Chrome and gedit don'have the unwanted
space problem. But terminal emulator still shows the problem.

One thing is for sure. They wrote in big letters "support for Asian
languages in Unity" for the 11.10 release. But it seems nobody in
Canonical did some basic testing with korean. A now we have a broken
11.10 for korean. And no fixes. For me this bug should be categorized as

It's listed in the context menu. But the bug i reported is that is not
listed in Properties->Open With. Older nautilus versions allowed to
define a custom command, this one doesn't. So i can't add a custom
command and cannot select the default application because is not listed.

Ubuntu 11.04 here, so this bug is still quite alive. Banshee seemed to
ignore the gstreamer errors :(, so it just was doing nothing you try to
play a song.
Removing banshee.db and rebuilding the database solved the bug. At least
banshee should show some error message "database corrupt, rebuild it"

This is on Ubuntu 11.04. xdg-open seems to be ignoring the BROWSER
enviroment variable. If i'm not wrong, is using gnome-open, and i cannot
configure gnome-open to use w3m, which is the browser i want to use.
