This issue is caused by a samba mount using (smbmount). If I manually
bring down the mounts using smbumount prior to shutting down the system
shuts down fine.
The network mounts are listed in /etc/mtab correctly, so this must be a
bug in Network manager not being aware of the mounts in question??

To confirm this is STILL a bug on Hardy, however it can be worked

A further update on this bug. This is indeed a bug.
It would appear that on all my folders the option 'Use custom message
templates' is on.
If I turn this OFF, it still ignores the templates in the main settings.
To get around this, I have to edit every custom template on every
folder! Most anno

A simpler way to 'get round this' is to close KMail. Then edit kmailrc
(.kde/share/config/) and remove all [Template...] sections.
Then save it.
Once you restart it it should use the main Standard Templates.
The problem still remains that you cannot turn off using custom

I have an HP 6910p Laptop. This has the same issue. I had major Wireless
issues and Hibernate issues (well documented in another bug) with the
previous version of Ubuntu. When I upgraded to Hardy last week the
wireless and Hibernate issues went away, however no the machine will not
shutdown or rest
Nope the system is fully up to date but problem remains.
